I have been engaged in traditional carpentry for 9 years and 5 years ago I went to study Japanese carpentry in Japan. In traditional carpentry, we build furniture from solid wood without nails or screws out of an understanding of how wood works and out of respect for nature. I build most of my work using hand tools. In recent years I have been teaching traditional carpentry and Japanese carpentry in my workshop at Kibbutz Eilon.
