I am Yael, a mother to three beautiful children and a potter for over thirty years. I've been living and breathing this craft in my studio for the past two decades. I adore my work and the studio, where I not only create pottery and sinks but also conduct classes throughout the week.
Over the years, an incredible community of women from the local area has formed, all of whom study in my studio. These women come from all walks of life, creating a meeting point for diverse backgrounds. Many friendships, connections, and even matches have been made here.
The interaction between the women from the kibbutzim and those from religious communities has fostered deep connections. At the end of the day, we all share the same dreams, and our sons serve in the same places.
Working with materials helps to reveal people's true personalities. Beyond the surface, our studio community has suffered significant losses on Black Saturday, with women and family members murdered, and boys kidnapped. I hold onto the hope that the day will come when my studio can resume its work, the community of students can return to creating with love, and life can return to its normal rhythm.
